For Parents

The ASUCD Coffee House (the "CoHo") is a wonderful environment for your child to get a healthy meal, a quick snack, to study, or even find employment. Situated between the bookstore and the library, our location is a popular place to meet with friends and take a break from long hours of studying and classes. We accept cash or credit cards for purchases and are open 7 days a week aside from holiday closures. We are open to the general public, so please come by next time you are visiting your son or daughter.

We also have a large, varied, and healthy menu. 95% of our menu items are "CoHome-made," or in other words, made-from-scratch. Virtually everything, from the dough and sauce for our fresh-baked pizzas, to cakes, cookies, entrees and soups, including our delicious Boston clam chowder, is made from scratch. We are proud to say that we do not have a deep-fryer in our kitchen. Our kitchen student employees are trained to make large-scale, batch-cooked, made-from-scratch recipes. Very rarely will you find an employee opening a box of frozen food. We also offer brown and white rice, many vegetarian and low fat items, fresh fruit and make-your-own salad and baked potato bar. We are members of "Buy Fresh Buy Local" and Community Alliance with Family Farmers and support many local businesses with our purchases.

Job opportunities are plentiful at the Coffee House. Since 1967, the Coffee House has employed students to work in the kitchen, out front serving areas, and as cashiers. Currently, we employ over 225 student workers each year, hire every quarter, and offer flexible work hours. Shifts range from 1 hour to 6 hours and give students the flexibility to work before, in-between or after classes. Weekend hours are also available. Students work side by side while cooking recipes, serving food, and ringing up customers, which makes working at the CoHo more than just a job. This truly is a wonderful place to work.

If you have any questions about the Coffee House and how your child can become involved with us, please do not hesitate to contact our Marketing and Training Manager, Tom Jobst, at 530.754.6869 or twjobst@ucdavis.edu.
